I got this app for my 4 1/2 yr old who has PTSD(post tramatic stress syndrom). A year ago we were at a friends house when the water pipes burst, my son was the first to witness water pouring from the ceiling vents and then the fire alarms went off. He also has apraxia and autism spectrum disorder. Whenever my son hears a fire alarm he runs and hides. We have been trying to teach him about fire safety but have not been able to break him of hiding when he hears sirens. He loves firetrucks, firemen and all that they do but he does not like the noise they make. This app is wonderful because it gives my son a chance to explore a fire house in the comfort of his own home and with the security knowing that he has control over the noise. He has learned all about the firehouse, how calls come in, what to do if there is a fire, the tools on the trucks. He even gets to pretend he is a firefighter. I have not found another app that has all of this together. There is even a classroom that will ask questions about what they learned while playing with the app. I was amazed at how much my son learned in only a few mins. I highly reocomend this app to any child who loves firetrucks or has a fear of fire trucks or their sirens. This is a great app for teaching any child including a special needs child about fire safety. Your child gets to play while they learn!
